Pearls grades classification standards are in three aspects:
1. Gloss, divided into grades A-D, to see whether the gloss is bright and whether the reflective lines are uniform and clear;
2,The cortex is divided into A-D grades, depending on the numbers of surface defects;
3, Shape, according to the percentage of diameter difference, it is divided into perfect circle A1, circle A2, near to circle A3, ellipse B and other grades.

1. Gloss
Pearl luster is divided into four grades: the highest grade A, the luster is particularly bright, uniform reflection, and reflective image lines are clear; the higher grade B, the luster is clear and bright, and the image is clear;Moderate C grade, bright luster, reflective lines are uniform but not completely clear; poor D grade, surface reflections are blurred, weak and scattered.
2,Cortex
The cortex is divided into four grades:the best grade A, with almost no blemishes on the surface; better grade B, with visible blemishes accounting for less than one-third of the entire bead area;Good grade C pearls have blemishes that can be seen with the naked eye accounting for 1/3 to 2/3 of the entire bead area; poor grade D pearls have more obvious blemishes on the surface.
3,Shape
Pearl shape grades are divided into:
perfect circle A1, the diameter difference percentage of seawater pearls is not higher than 1%, and freshwater pearls are not higher than 3%;
For circle A2, the diameter difference percentage of seawater pearls is not higher than 5%, and that of freshwater pearls is not higher than 8%.Near circle A3, the diameter difference percentage of sea water pearls is not higher than 10%, fresh water pearls is not higher than 12%;
ellipse B, the diameter difference percentage of sea water pearls is more than 10%, short elliptical fresh water pearls are not higher than 20%, long elliptical fresh water pearls are more than 20%;
Flat C, seawater pearls are symmetrical, one or both sides are approximately planar, the diameter difference percentage of high-type freshwater pearls is not more than 20%, and low-type freshwater pearls are more than 20%;
abnormal shape D, the surface is usually uneven without obvious symmetry.
